My, how time flies. It seems like yesterday that we were ushering in the new decade, and now 2010 is nearly over.
This year, I did manage to accomplish quite a bit, including my resolutions, so let's go back and see which ones I kept, as well as some other things that are notable for this year.
Resolution #1: Find a Job - Sadly, this one did not get fulfilled, but I have been taking up IT training to increase my prospects. Even got my A+ certification and may go for either the CCENT or CCNA pretty soon. This is obviously one that's going to be carried over to the next year; after all, I needs me some money. ...Though I DID get some kind of "income" throughout the year. More on that later.
Resolution #2: Learn How to Drive - Pretty much accomplished. A few years late, but as long as I did it, who cares? Now I just need to take the road test, then after passing it, worry about getting a car.
Resolution #3: Draw More - Aside from a few doodles here and there, this one was not kept at all. I bought a few drawing tools last week, so hopefully I can finally get around to practicing/improving my drawing hand.
Resolution #4: Develop my Story/ies - Yep. Did this one all throughout the year. I may have gotten negligent of my drawing, but my stories are still getting adequate attention.
Resolution #5: Make My Girlfriend Like Her Feet - And now for the pseudo-joke resolution. She did tell me that she felt better about her feet after I got to... well, worship them, so I guess this resolution was also fulfilled. Unfortunately, we broke up back in April, so it's a bittersweet one. We're still in contact with each other as friends, though.
Obviously, the unfulfilled resolutions will carry on into the New Year. There's some more stuff to look forward to in 2011, as well.
For instance, my most anticipated games Pokemon Black and White release on March 6th, 2011. A mere couple of months from now. I already have Pokemon Black preordered, and I have the money for it sealed in an envelope, in case I don't have a job/income by then. I have already posted my thoughts on all of the new Pokemon, and I'm really looking forward to using a lot of them. Another big release is Nintendo's 3DS. That little baby has a ton of potential, and its launch games are already looking good. I don't know if I'll get one right away, though. Another release is Zelda: Skyward Sword; though I don't have a Wii Motion Plus yet, so I have to be sure to get one before the game releases.
Speaking of games, this year I managed to obtain a ton of games. How, you ask, if I didn't have any money? Well, I had what you could call a weekly allowance from my father, to get me through the week at school. I saved up enough money, and I was able to get some of the games that I had missed out on, including some new releases.
Games obtained are, in the order I got them:
-Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars (Wii)
-Pokemon Heart Gold (DS)
-Mario Kart Wii
-No More Heroes (Wii)
-Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World (Wii)
-Baten Kaitos Origins (GCN)
-Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4 (PS2)
-Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne (PS2)
-Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey (DS)
-No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle (Wii)
-Arc Rise Fantasia (Wii)
-Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga (PS2)
-Star Ocean: Till the End of Time (PS2)
Nice haul, eh? It certainly makes up for the droughts that my collection suffered in 2008 and 2009. Of course, I now have a backlog, and I doubt I'll be buying any new games anytime soon (aside from Pokemon Black), or at least not any long JRPGs, since the games I still have to complete ARE JRPGs (and you know that they can take at least 50 hours to finish).
Thanks to my purchase of Persona 4 on a whim, I also gained a newfound interest in the Shin Megami Tensei series. The mainline games are like a dark Pokemon, though the series itself predated Pokemon by nearly a decade. There were three SMT titles announced for the 3DS: a mainline SMT game, a Persona game, and a Devil Survivor game. No doubt that Devil Survivor will be a new game, and hopefully the other two titles follow suit; SMT5 and Persona 5 for 3DS!!
I'm also on TVTropes; made myself my own Tropes pages for my currently-online stories (NOT any that I'd want to publish, since they are fetish-related and personally I don't feel they're fit for publishing). Here's my page, under the moniker BlackSol. Speaking of my stories, here they are right here; as I said, they're mostly fetish related, but aside from that, they DO tell captivating stories beyond fetishism, and have nice characterization (that I've been complemented on several times).
Sticking with fetishism for a minute, I also discovered a site called wikiFeet, which is basically a collaborative database of pictures of celebrities (female ones only, though) who have their feet exposed in one way or another. A very nice site for people with foot fetishes (such as myself, obviously), and for people wanting to know what a certain celeb's feet looks like or just want a better look. However, its userbase are a bunch of morons; I'd advise you to not look at the comments section. Seriously; take the stupidity of YouTube comments and Yahoo Answers... answers, and multiply it. They're that bad.
So what's in store for next year, as for as this blog is concerned? Well, for one thing, I want to get back on my Pokemon Ruby Nuzlocke Challenge. For the two of you who were reading them, I haven't forgotten about it, but I've just been doing other things. I intend to finish it before Pokemon Black comes out.
I may also start writing game reviews on this blog, too. There are some games that I liked, and some that I... well, didn't, to put it lightly. Of course, the games in the list above are all good games, so I'm going to have to dig deep and find games that I've played that were horrendous. ...I can think of one of them.
As for my other series, the currently dead Daily Cutie series. I may return to it sometime, but as of right now, I'm going to keep it on indefinite hiatus. However, I do intend to make a list of who I think are the most attractive celebs (domestic and foreign), so you can look out for that to be posted sometime in the next year.
Well, I'm out of things to write about for now. I did want to talk about some news stories and real world issues that angered me this year (the "Ground Zero Mosque" (which I DID write about), those moronic Birthers, and the BP oil spill), but I'll leave them alone for now.
It's a few days early, but I bid 2010 adieu, and welcome 2011 into my heart. I really am looking forward to what it will contain.
