I'll just get straight to the point: I'd love to have the ability to control my dreams. As they are now, they seemed to be a medley of random bullshit featuring me and people I either know in real life or through the Internet (how does that work). ...That is, if I can remember them at all the morning after.
Well, of course, there is a way to do it. It's called Lucid Dreaming, and there's many websites dedicated to showing how to take control of your dreams so that you can dream whatever you want. It involves you recognizing the signs that you actually are dreaming, and once you realize that, you can have almost full control of the content and direction of your dreams.
Of course, it takes a while to perfect, but I'd love to have the ability to do so. And I'm sure that a lot of you do, though there are some people who believe that dreams are trying to tell them something, especially if its a recurring dream.
I'm not sure what I'd like to dream about (okay, actually I am), but I know that I could work wonders with such an ability. I remember one weird dream I had a long time ago when I was little, not long after my fetish seed was planted I assume; It involved two neighbors who used to live across the street from us, I found them to be cute (especially the younger one, who's around my age); and they still are cute, since I saw them again a few years later) and me being... somehow the size of a small insect. Don't ask. >_> Anyway, they were wearing sandals, and all I remember was one of them stomping on me so hard that they broke--nay, shattered--the floor. Weird, alright, but I have never had a dream like it since. I'd rather have a dream like that, than ones that constantly remind me of my current situation in life (the message dreams).
I've also had dreams where I was hanging out with some random girl. They include girls I know in real life, girls I only know through the Internet, and even celebs, notably two of them being Yuko Ogura and Parvati Melton. One girl that I had a crush on back in high school apeeared quite a bit, until one dream that ended it all by having her reject me in my own subconscious (so, she turned me down twice). Of course, there were also quite a few with my now-exgirlfriend. There weren't any any kinky stuff in them (though, some have come close). ...But with Lucid Dreaming, I'd probably change all of that... >_>
There was one of a friend I know only through MySpace, where we both went on a Zelda-esque adventure through several places, but all I remember is a factory of sorts, and a confrontation with my friend's "teacher" (the dungeon boss).
Changing the subject a bit, apocalyptic and disaster dreams are a bit unnerving, as while I'm dreaming, I'm obviously thinking that what I'm experencing is real. There was one recent dream where I looked out of my bathroom window, and saw an ominous black cloud headed for the area. It looked almost demonic... and alive. There's also been quite a few dreams where a tornado have terrorized the area, headed right for our house. Notable, since I have never personally seen a tronado in my life. They happen in Michigan... just seemingly not around here.
Maybe I should even keep a dream journal, and write down what I remember. I think they could serve as some inspiration for my stories and other projects.
I kinda wish that the dream world was like the one in the NiGHTS series, particularly NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams. Where there was a night/dream plaza with doors that led to different dream worlds based on the person's memories and interests. I can already picture where those doors would lead in my dreams. ...Of course, I'd have to look out for Nightmarens, Reala, and Wizeman trying to fuck everything up.
The blog's title actually comes from the NiGHTS games, as the main theme song is called "Dreams Dreams."
Well, until I gain that ability to twist and mend my dreams to my pleasure, I'll just have to let my brain take me for a wild and unpredictable ride.
